Our summer coloring contest as finally started and will be open from June 30th 2015 until august 15th 2015.
Yep! Open until august 15th so you have plenty of time to enjoy summer days AND color your entry.

Note: I've been absent from DA for quite a long time due to an illustration project I was working on. Today I've finished my last two illustrations and the book will go in print in a couple of weeks. It should be available around October.

As I've been working non-stop on my own illustrations, I thought it would be fun to do a bit of relaxed colouring with someone else's lineart. It was lovely to see how another artist had put such love and work into detail.

Unfortunately my choice of paper and watercolour pencils wasn't the best. That paper isn't really suited for wet media. It got all splotchy when I added water to the coloured pencils and didn't allow the colours to flow as they would on better paper. But I still enjoyed a new experience, given that I'm not exactly good at handling watersoluble pencils, lol. I'm definitely more the watercolour and brush person.

Edit: Sorry, but I had to delete the file and reload it, DA unfortunately doesn't change it. (I've made a few improvements, mainly in contrast and regarding the details of the foreground.)
